Quick answers
What’s the fastest way from the airport to the city centre? +
The train: nine to thirteen minutes to Zürich HB, several times an hour, straight from the station beneath the terminal. It is faster than any car, because it does not use the road at all. A pre-booked transfer takes about twenty-three minutes door to door, CHF 120 fixed in the E-Class.
How early should I be at the airport? +
Ninety minutes for a Schengen flight with hand luggage, two hours with checked bags or for a non-Schengen flight, and two and a half hours for a long-haul departure from Dock E. Add margin between 06:00 and 08:00, and on winter Saturdays.
What’s the difference between docks A, B and E? +
A and B are reached on foot from the Airside Center. Dock E is a separate satellite for long-haul and non-Schengen departures, reached only by the underground Skymetro — allow about ten minutes, passport control included. Your terminal number says nothing about your dock.
Is there free Wi-Fi? +
Yes, throughout the airport landside and airside, and at The Circle. You connect through a captive portal that asks you to accept terms and may ask you to identify yourself once.
Can I store my luggage? +
Yes — the luggage storage is in the Airport Center, landside, which also means you cannot reach it from the departure gates. Useful on a layover if your bags are not checked through.
