The board above is the live Zurich Airport arrivals feed, refreshed roughly every minute. Below it: what actually happens between wheels-down and the kerb, in the order you will meet it.

After you land, in order
Dock A, B or E
Schengen flights park at Dock A. Dock B switches between Schengen and non-Schengen. Long-haul uses Dock E, a separate satellite building.
Only from Dock E
Dock E is not walkable: the automated Skymetro runs underground to the main building. It comes before passport control, not after.
Non-Schengen only
Arriving from within Schengen, there is none. From outside it, this is where the queue forms — see border control.
Belts, then trolleys
Belts sit directly after immigration, free trolleys at the belts. Your belt number is on the screens and in your airline app.
Green or red channel
Switzerland is in Schengen but not in the EU customs union, so duty-free allowances still apply. Details on customs.
Hall 1 or Hall 2
The two arrival halls are the only public exit points. Whoever is collecting you should stand at the hall matching your belt.
Arriving by private jet instead? Private aviation at ZRH is handled separately from the passenger terminals. And if you would rather be met inside the hall with your name on a board, that is meet & greet.
Meeting someone? Send them this page — the board above shows the live estimate, so they can leave home at the right time rather than at the scheduled one.
Getting out of the airport
| Option | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Train (SBB) | Station directly beneath the terminal | Zurich city centre, 10–13 min to Zürich HB |
| Taxi | Rank outside the arrival halls | Short hops, no pre-booking |
| Private transfer | Driver waiting inside the hall | Fixed price, luggage, late arrivals |
| Long-distance transfer | Door to door | Ski resorts, Basel, Lucerne, Liechtenstein |
| Car park | P1–P6, Butzenbüel | Being collected by car |
Booked a transfer with us? Your chauffeur is already in the arrivals hall with a name board. We track the inbound flight, so a delay changes nothing and there is no waiting charge for it.

Zurich Airport arrivals — FAQ
Where can I see live arrivals at Zurich Airport today?
On the board at the top of this page. It is the live Avionio feed for ZRH (LSZH), refreshed roughly every 60 seconds, and it shows the scheduled time, the current estimate and the flight status.
How long does it take to get out of Zurich Airport after landing?
A Schengen arrival with hand luggage only is often out in under 15 minutes. A long-haul arrival at Dock E with checked bags means Skymetro, passport control and the baggage belt: allow 30–45 minutes on a normal day.
Which dock do flights arrive at in Zurich?
Dock A takes Schengen flights, Dock B switches between Schengen and non-Schengen depending on the flight, and Dock E handles long-haul non-Schengen traffic. Only Dock E requires the Skymetro.
Where do I meet arriving passengers at Zurich Airport?
In arrival hall 1 or arrival hall 2 — they are the only public exit points. Which one depends on the baggage belt, shown on the public screens once the flight has landed.
Is there passport control for Schengen arrivals at ZRH?
No. Switzerland is part of the Schengen area, so there is no passport check when you arrive from another Schengen country. Customs still applies, because Switzerland is not in the EU customs union.
My flight shows “Expected” — is it delayed?
“Expected” followed by a time is the live estimate. Compare it with the scheduled time on the same row: if the estimate is later, the flight is running behind. The board updates roughly every minute.
Where can I see today’s departures instead?
On the departures page, which carries the same live board for outbound flights, plus check-in and security timing.
